Bangle Making in Muzaffarpur : The best works of bangle making can be seen in the city of Muzaffarpur. The raw material for bangle works is obtained from the nearby state forest. The artist use light fire to craft the delicate glasses into circular shape. The artists who make these bangles are called “Laheris”.

Mithila Painting in Madhubani : Mithila Painting or Madhubani Painting is an impressive work of art, Folklore has it that the Mithila painting originated when King Janak called artist to create paintings at the time of Sita’s marriage. These painting have been done traditionally by almost every woman of Mithilanchal with the skill being passed on from one generation to another. The painting was usually done at the time of religious events and other milestones of life cycle such as birth, marriage. Color use for these painting derived from plants and herbs. Mithila painting mostly depicts nature and mythological events and the themes generally revolve around Hindu deities like Krishna, Ram, Shiva, Kali, Durga etc. A large number of Mithila paintings are today exported to different parts of world.

Itinerary

 

Day 1| Patna – Muzaffarpur – Darbhanga

Our arrival at Patna Airport/Railway Station, meet and greet by Visit Bihar tour representative. He will assist you in getting transferred to your car for road drive to Darbhanga. En-route visit Muzaffarpur, The best works of Bangle Making can be seen in the city of Muzaffarpur city. You get chance to see the live making of Lacque Ware in Muzaffarpur. Post lunch get driven to Darbhanga, we had arranged a rural family home for your stay in Darbhanga to give an experience of Rural life in Mithalanchal during your stay. Enjoy authentic local cuisine for your dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 2|Darbhanga – Madhubani – Darbhanga

Today after breakfast get ready to have a rural visit to Darbhanga and Madhubani region. Madhubani is nearby town of Darbhanga and famous for Mithila Painting. Today we will show you Mithila Painting workshop at Ranti or Jitwarpur Village where female artist show you the method and art form of Madhubani painting. You may try some Mithila painting pattern on paper and buy the authentic piece of art. Evening drive back to Darbhanga for your overnight stay with rural family.

 

Day 3|Darbhanga – Patna (departure)

Today after breakfast get chance to visit The forts and havelies of Darbhanga Raj. Visit Laxmeshwar Vilas Palace, Nargauna Palace, Rambagh Palace, Bela Palace and The Chandradhari Museum. Later back to village to say goodbye for the hospitality of family and drive straight to Patna. On arrival drop off at Railway Station or Airport for your onwards journey to home.
